Ambient Voice Technology in Nursing: Expert Roundtable Event

About the Event

Building on our webinar series, Future Nurse is continuing the conversation through a dedicated, invite-only event exploring the role of ambient voice technology (AVT) in nursing practice.

This event brings together clinical leaders, researchers, policy voices, system partners, and local innovators for a combination of plenary sessions and facilitated roundtable discussions. Together, we will examine the opportunities, risks, and real-world implications of AVT across care settings.

To enable open and candid dialogue, roundtable discussions and plenary contributions operate under the Chatham House Rule. Insights gathered will be synthesised and anonymised, contributing to a forthcoming Future Nurse white paper aimed at informing policy, practice, and future research.

This work forms part of our wider “think and do tank” programme. While participation is by invitation, we will share key themes and emerging insights through published outputs and ongoing engagement opportunities.

Co-producing a white paper that drives change.

We are working in partnership with the University of Salford to produce a white paper that captures the insights from this event and turns them into practical recommendations to inform policy and practice.

  • What role should senior nurses and CNIOs play in shaping AVT strategy locally and nationally?
  • What ethical and equity risks need to be addressed to avoid harm or loss of trust?
Seeing nursing in AVT, use cases across settings
  • How could AVT fit into nursing workflows without adding burden or cognitive load?
  • What factors would be essential for long-term success?
  • Imagine it is 2028 and AVT is widely used in nursing, what made that possible?
  • Alternatively, imagine AVT failed, what went wrong?
